JOHN EADS
SPORTS BROADCASTER
--A LITTLE ABOUT ME--

Hey! Thanks so much for stopping by today. My name is John Eads IV and I'm an aspiring sports broadcaster. I graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University this past May and am ready to begin my professional sports broadcasting career.
I've always had the dream of being a sports broadcaster. I spent hours in my basement watching college football, would devise my own AP Top 25 polls in class, and would talk anyone's ear off about the latest score. This dream seemed like nothing more than a dream for a little while. In high school, I could never really get into the broadcasting aspect of sports because I was always on the field playing the sports, but that suddenly changed.
In my senior year of high school, I was unexpectedly cut from the varsity hockey team. Now, while this outcome hurt for some time, it opened up another door for me. With the extra free time I gained, I decided to spend it with our school's sportscasting club and start getting involved with the broadcasts. That year, I worked on hockey and basketball games as a play-by-play broadcasters and color analyst and have never looked back since.

I applied to Syracuse, was admitted and began my journey in 2019. Since then, I was a leader and member in each of the sports media clubs at school and completed everything I set out to do at school. I ended my time in upstate New York by having my name selected as one of the top six college broadcasters in the United States. I was named a first team All-American by the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America (STAA). You can find my award-winning reel in the "Jim Nantz Award" section of my website.
